Helicosphaera truempyi Biolzi and Perch-Nielsen, 1982

Description: Like H. carteri but central-area open, spanned by horizontal disjunct bar.

Remarks:

Range: NP25 to lower NN1.

A large helicosphaerid, length 17-20 microns, with a large central opening spanned by a traverse disjunct bar making a small angle with short axis of the ellipse.

Observations from offshore West Africa.
