[Catinaster mexicanus Bukry, 1971]

Description: Compact nannolith formed of six stubby rays with similar shape to C. coalitus but lacking the basket-like structure.

Remarks: Probably isolated central-areas of discoasters rather than a discrete species. NB Occasional citations in NN14-15 are probably records of D. altus.
