Discoaster neorectus

Discoaster neorectus Bukry, 1971

Description: Very large (>20μm), flat discoaster, with simple ray tips.

Remarks: Bukry (1971) described this species for large (>20microns) D. brouweri variants without ray tip bending. He recorded it as restricted to his D. neorectus subzone, (broadly equivalent to NN10B). Other authors have recorded it in this interval.
