Pontosphaera obliquipons (Deflandre in Deflandre & Fert 1954) Romein 1979
Description: Simple unadorned plate with a large central hole spanned by a crystallographically-disjunct oblique bar. The bar is birefringent at 0° (i.e. when the coccolith is orientated parallel to the polarising directions of the microscope) and dark at 10°.
