Sphenolithus moriformis (Bronnimann and Stradner, 1960) Bramlette and Wilcoxon, 1967 [Nannoturbella]
Description: Beehive shaped sphenolith, apical elements not in extinction in vertical poition. No spine, upper and lower parts of similar size.
Remarks: Lower and Middle Miocene sphenoliths are highly variable and S. moriformis is something of a bucket identification.
Size: 3-8 microns (size varies considerably between samples, but there have been no systematic studies)
