Recent developments

I've been a bit quiet on the site over the last couple of months but I have just now added about 170 images of modern coccolithophores. The objective here was to provide ilustrations from the plankton for all modern species which have a fossil record. In addition I have edited numerous pages so as to improve the utility of the site as guideto Neogene nannofosil taxonomy and generally improve it.

For the future

Several colleagues have expressed interst in helping extend the site to cover Palaeogene and Mesozoic fossil coccoliths. The upcoming INA conference in Lyon will provid a forum to discus how the site can be developed, or what other opportunities are available to provide information on nannofossils on the web. I will be giving a talk on Nannotax at the conference and look forward to intersting discussions on how to develop nannofosil taxonomy on the WWW.
