Farinacci catalog and other developments - July 2009
An important recent development is that Anna Farinacci has generously given the INA copyright to use the Farinacci catalog of calcareous nannofossils. This is a consistently formatted republication of original descrptions and type illustrations of several thousand nannofossils. Jackie Lees has had the entire catalog scanned and Debbie Pledge (a volunteeer generously working with me in the NHM) has tagged the images with species names. We will be progressively making these available both through the Nannotax sytem, and as a separate stand-alone resource. So far we have added the page images to the Neogene taxa.
We are also working on the Palaeogene pages - starting by adding images from the Bown 2005 paper on beautifully preservd nannofossils from Tanzania.

Photos from the spring 2009 Paleogene workshop(Houston)
Richard Howe assures me that he is getting very close to finishing the editing of the photos. When they are ready they will also be available on Nannotax.
